What is a radiator and what are some common radiator problems?
A radiator is a heat exchanger, which transfers thermal energy from your boiler to the air by circulating a liquid (either steam or hot water) through exposed pipes – thereby heating your home or commercial building. There are several types of radiators – single pipe, double pipe, steam, hot water, hot water baseboard, etc.
Common problems include:
- The lower portion of the radiator is hot, but the top of it is cold
- The entire radiator is cold
- All radiators in your home or building are cold
- All upstairs radiators are working properly, but the downstairs radiators are all cold
- Radiators farthest away from the boiler are cool
If you suspect you have a problem with your radiator (or any other part of your home or commercial building's heating system), call Magnolia Heating & Air Conditioning today to have an experienced professional come diagnose and fix your problem. We'll get you warm again in no time!
